Families & Kids

This page is designed for kids to make the most out of their visit to the Victorian Goldfields towns of Maldon and Castlemaine.  Most people think of the Goldfields as a heritage, food and wine area full of vineyards and winery tasting places – just the thing that kids love – not

We live here so we know that there is a lot more to the Goldfields than heritage and wine.  It is a great place to live and play.

Use this page to plan your stay in the Barossa.  There is so much for kids to do that will keep you busy for a few days - at least.  Let your parents know what you want to do but make sure you leave some time for them to visit the things they like!

We have put this page together in categories that we hope you will find useful

If you have any feedback or if you find something that is great for kids but we haven’t mentioned it please contact us

Goldfields Attractions for Kids

Tarraglan hill climb @ Maldon - some weekends they have car races up the steep hill - it's cheap to get in and safe to watch.

Botanic Park @ Castlemaine - there is a lake on the edge of the river where you can feed the ducks.
